MUSEUM DAY FALL FESTIVAL

26, 27 May 2018 – The STIRLING CITY MUSEUM OPENING WEEKEND with a Bake Sale on Saturday from 11am to 4pm with a visit from Black Bart, the gentleman robber from the 1800’s, re-enacted by Lee Dummel, and Amy Morrison, one of the only female Stagecoach Drivers in Butte County from the late 1800’s, re-enacted by Mary Schaefer. The museum will be open on Sunday from noon to 4pm. Admission free. Donations graciously accepted. Info: 873-0583
"STAGECOACH" The history, design and construction of the historical stagecoach---the "Knights of the Whip" (stagecoach drivers) and guest appearances (re-enactments) of stagecoach drivers, "Amy Morrison," (one of only two known female drivers) and "Bull Meek." This presentation will be offered by Lee Dummel, Old West Historian and re-enactor. Sunday, 11 OCTOBER 2015 2PM at the Stirling City Community Hall ADMISSION FREE (Donations gratefully accepted but not required)
Carol Lewis, Stirling City Historical Society Director—holding Candi Sue, and Pete Cuming, volunteer extraordinaire, stand underneath a 1947 Straddle Carrier donated by Ross Sherburn of Corning, CA.
The Straddle Carrier was originally used at the Collins Mill in Chester, CA. Pete Cuming refurbished and painted the carrier that will be on display in front of the museum at 16993 Skyway on Saturdays and Sundays from 1:00 to 5pm. Mary Schaefer 873-0583
